In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical, electronic and optic product design and development of automotive lighting.

Your Tasks

  • System responsibility for the development of the Opto-mechatronic products inside a global network.
  • Coordination of an interdisciplinary system-development team (Electronics, mechanical design and lighting technology) of each project.
  • In addition to the internal coordination you must be able to control the technical communication with the international customers acting as their technical contact person.
  • In the context of complex projects, is your obligation and responsibility to coordinate the technical requirements analysis, system design and system management, as well as system integration.
  • Responsible for thermal management of products, as well as other properties such as: tolerance management, functional safety, design to cost and design evaluation.
  • Advice on components feasibility, toolability, manufacturability, and prototyping in the early phases of product development.
  • Represent the system engineering to the external customers in addition to the internal coordination and close cooperation with the participating department

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Science or Physics with experience in design, lighting technology or electronic area, mold design and strong analytical thinking.
  • Five or more years of experience working in the development of optical or mechanical or mechatronical systems with an expertise in at least one of these disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of OEM vehicle performance criteria.
  • Experience with CAE/CAD systems. CATIA V5 preferred.
  • Strong organizational and good project management skills and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams in order to complete tasks within established and changing deadlines
  • High leadership skills of global and interdisciplinary project teams required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Disposition to travel and mobility
