Responsible for leading all activities and communication concerning product engineering issues at customer’s plants; visit our customers’ production facilities and interface with the assembly line and customer supplier quality organization; serve as the interface to the customer at the customer facility and provide primary customer engineering support for products in production to achieve a maximum of customer satisfaction; analyze all customer product engineering issues on a real-time basis; perform defects analysis including fit, form and function; interpret testing results and interface on a timely basis with the customer assembly, logistics, and engineering personnel;
monitor and report daily on customer issues, repair and re-test, including leak testing, light function test, and electronic performance testing defective parts as required; organize the containment and reaction measures for any suspect product at the customer location; report the status of corrective actions and monitor effectiveness in the customer assembly plant; collect and report quality data; revew warranty items returned to the resident site; monitor and administer costs associated with customer plant returns; attend customer meeting and product reviews on a regular basis; utilize 6Sigma data analysis, FEMA (Design and Process), R&R Studies, GD&T, SPC,
Pareto analysis, 8D Problem solving, Ishikawa cause effect analysis, Risk analysis, Diagnostic/measuring tools, Measuring Machine analysis and Lean Manufacturing tools to perform duties; serve as the site coordinator for any new and/or revised product launch; assist the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of product, process, and packaging improvement strategies; and develop and implement a circuit of the assembly plants and inventory locations on a daily basis to monitor and report defects.
Location: Plymouth, Michigan and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US;
Salary: $94,468 per year;
Education: Bachelors – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Process Control Engineer, as a Quality Control Engineer, as a Supplier Quality Control Engineer, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Must have three (3) years experience with all of the following: 6Sigma data analysis, FEMA (Design and Process), R&R Studies, GD&T, SPC, Pareto analysis, 8D Problem solving, Ishikawa cause effect analysis, Risk analysis, Diagnostic/measuring tools, Measuring Machine analysis and Lean Manufacturing tools.
