  • Support the assigned product family over its entire product life cycle; initiate further development and manage suppliers
  • Support defined product ranges be responsible for product positioning on the market. Develop ideas for products and integrate them into the product ranges supported. Design and support the product range with regard to product mix depth and breadth.


  • Prepare acquisitions for a certain product family
  • Perform and analyze market observation for a certain product family; order examinations of Hella and exter-nal products; integrate the results into the product development
  • Provide support to marketing in presentations and sales talks; clarify technical, quality and commercial risks in cooperation with the marketing, development and cost accounting units
  • Life cycle support
  • Cooperate in the working out of an international product, product range and pricing strategy for the product family taking account of corporate and divisional objectives
  • Draw up concepts for the further development of products; coordinate the concepts with the superior and hand them over to the development department
  • Coordinate product updates with marketing; provide technical advice to and support the customers with re-gard to component-specific technical questions in close coopertion with marketing
  • Work out and implement rationalization measures in cooperation with the responsible production units; be involved in production-strategy questions
  • Cooperate in the budget planning of product families to be supported in cooperation with superiors and units involved
  • Provide support to marketing with regard to product-specific questions; design, calculate and assess com-plex systems and components taking account of quality, costs and deadlines as well as in-house and statu-tory regulations
  • Take responsibility for the technical product documentation
  • Perform customer consulting; check and coordinate design solutions in the case of technical issues by ar-rangement with the development department



  • Cooperate in the working out of an international product, product range and pricing strategy for the division taking account of corporate and divisional objectives
  •  Plan the appropriate measures for strategy implementation to secure and strengthen the products' position on the relevant markets in the long term
  • Draw up rolling short and medium term marketing, sales, revenue and product planning in the context of the strategy passed, plan resources, capacities and capital expenditure by arrangement with the responsible units
  • Coordinate activities for the area to be supported by arrangement with the respective marketing functions
  • Estimate the trade potential over the product's life cycle taking into account feasibility and the use of syner-gies
  • Hold product strategy and pricing talks with competitors and suppliers within the bounds of defined guide-lines with a view to purchasing or exchanging products in order to make the product range as complete and competitive as possible
  • Draw up concepts for the further development of products and ideas for products, i.e. new ideas, modifica-tion of products, reverse engineering of key products
  • Clarify the kind of technical implementation (internal/external) in cooperation with the development dept. in charge and have, if required, existing ranges implemented by means of appropriate modifications
  • Draw up sales forecasts and budgets for the product and check profitability; draw up an appropriate re-quirement specification
  • Coordinate the component development for the product group to be supported in acc. with the performance specification
  • Observe and analyze the national and international markets with regard to the product group to be support-ed, if required in cooperation with market research; detect changes and trends in supply and demand struc-tures and initiate appropriate measures
  • Update the product range, i.e. continuous and systematic updating of the existing range taking into account profitability
  • Initiate the deletion of unprofitable ranges or products that do not stand a chance of sustained success on the market in cooperation with the superior in charge
  • Check and analyze sales and revenue of existing product ranges; look at individual products; detect non-compliance and suggest countermeasures and activities in cooperation with the relevant units
  • Handle other tasks as well that relate to the job
  • (including examining and evaluating suggestions for improvement, as well as complying with industrial safety and envi-ronmental protection measures pertaining to the scope of duties)
