Job Summary

Schedule production to meet just-in-time delivery based on customer releases.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Review production planning table (MF50) in SAP to adjust production schedule daily in order to meet customer shipping requirements.
  2. Develop 5 day fixed / level master schedule to stabilize production, supply chain and overall HEC planning.
  3. Determine/achieve appropriate finished goods inventory and required safety stock levels.
  4. On Time Customer Delivery.
  5. Achieve Logistics KPI targets.
  6. Capacity planning.
  7. Schedule manufacturing by day, week and month as needed utilizing available resources.
  8. Update daily increases and decreases for customer orders.
  9. Monitor new program start-ups and build-outs.
  10. Check on any shortages for customer requirements and resolve issues with Customer Service Planners.
  11. Work with Operational Planners to determine when component shortages are due, so floor can build customer requirements.
  12. Work with Customer Service on net changes from the customer and determine how soon to react to increased requirement from the customer.  Drive appropriate costs back to customer due to increases.
  13. Work with Production Team to make sure they complete their schedule.
  14. Attend daily production meetings as required to discuss component shortages and production problems.
  15. Set up the master schedule for production to follow as efficiently as possible.
  16. Schedule the weekend work schedule.
  17. Run reports as required to provide production requirements for the Plant Manager, Production Manager and Logistics Manager.
  18. Must complete the required training for the position (see Training Plan for Logistics).
  19. Strives for continuous improvement in performing job duties and responsibilities.
  20. Actively participate to improve HELPS rating for key Logistics areas.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • 3 - 5 years experience in Automotive Materials Management.
  • 4 Year College Degree and/or Equivalent Experience.
  • Knowledge/experience in the use of ERP computer systems and ability to excel using SAP system once training is complete.
  • Reading of engineering documents (bills of material, blueprints, and routings).
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing, KANBAN, Kaizen, Pull Systems, Value Stream Mapping, Constraint Management, Level Scheduling Concepts, High Cognitive Complexity, Leadership Skills.
