Job Summary

Coordinating and actively managing complex projects to ensure an excellent launch of new products.

Successfully leading cross functional, interdisciplinary teams to ensure the correct application and execution of the PEP and be accountable for the assigned projects.  Ensure the full transparency within assigned projects, proactively reporting to different management levels (e.g. Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Project Manager), escalation regarding HELLA instructions if

Necessary.  Conduct fully correct hand over of products in the series production.

Essential duties and responsibilities


  1. Working within the project teams according to the HELLA PEP regulations
  2. Agreeing and following up targets with the Project Manager in terms of quality, costs, and timing in agreement with the superior and taking existing processes and methods into consideration.
  3. Steering and executing in the development of production methods taking the market development for production systems into account and check new systems for their suitability and applicability as set by Hella specific constraints and legal requirements
  4. Advise the development responsible concerning production related options / improvements at new developments and modifications of products regarding optimum (cost and quality) joining and assembly design as well as process design. (Ferkon, Autkon, Lessons learned...)
  5. Steering and executing in the selection of appropriate connection and assembly processes with the process experts and development team
  6. Planning of production flows, production layouts and production equipment under consideration of needed / available capacities, cost, quality and due dates. Draw up the specification requirements
  7. Procurement of production equipment (evaluation of quotations, technical discussion with potential suppliers, preparation of supplier decision and ordering, control progress during construction phase)
  8. Creation of the PFMEA, assessment of the risks and introduction of sustainable improvements
  9. Pre-and final acceptance of production equipment according to the defined requirements
  10. Set up of production equipment together with the involved partners, preparation of the R@R as well as training for the relevant employees
  11. Involvement in internal and external pre-series audits in the area of production and quality assurance
  12. Preparing, updating and managing production and quality related documentation according to the guidelines as well as creating and updating the production master data
  13. Continual editing, interpretation and implementation of Process and production equipment changes


    Leading of project teams according to the Hella PEP regulations and execute projects

  1. Responsible for the monitoring of the used technologies, processes and production equipment in the running production as well as suggestion and implementation of improvement / cost reduction action (continuous improvement) with the target to reach the relevant performance KPIs
  2. Ensuring that the project targets in the dimensions of "Time", "Cost" and "Quality / Maturity" are being achieved or overachieved simultaneously or with the priority to selected dimension(s). Be able to focus on the most relevant deliverables (e.g. Functional Safety requirements)
  3. Knowing the Hella-standards, processes, methods and tools in the field of project management, and being able to apply them accordingly through the project lifetime
  4. Monitoring and fostering the team to comply with Hella processes, methods and tools in the field of project-management by ensuring that the group members create transparent work results through the application of the provided tools, methods and processes in accordance with the valid standards at Hella
  5. Pushing and focusing on achieving the deliverables and actively identifying claims potential resulting from engineering changes. Maintaining a valid status on engineering changes (e.g. change requests) with regards to their single effects on the project targets in the dimensions of “Time”, “Cost” and “Quality / Maturity”
  6. Understanding the product and the manufacturing process by knowing the product specifications and manufacturing process to the extent that they build a basis for profound decisions for the project manager to manage his project. Reflecting on which effects the decisions might have to other departments (e.g. Operations, Purchasing) within Hella

    Functional Lead

  7. Functional lead of the employees in the competence responsibility
  8. Guiding, instructing and supporting employees in function-related tasks
  9. Ensure process compliance with governance – rules
  10. Responsible for staffing and qualification demands
  11. Participate in planning of resources

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in electronic manufacturing industry; two (2) to three (3) years leading projects.
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Detailed knowledge of APQP, IATF16949 Certification.
  • Detailed knowledge of SMT process and automatic assembly lines.
  • Must be conscientious and maintain confidentiality in daily operations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy, including MS Project.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems, both technical and organizational.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision.
  • Conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
  • Professionally aggressive and goal oriented.


  • Indirect supervision of assigned cross-functional project team members.
